Students receive individualized attention to foster independence in reading - The Red Pony, The Cay, Sounder, Romeo and Juliet, The Last of the Mohicans and A Christmas Carol are just a few examples of books read. Exploring classic literature and expressing personal thoughts in a learning log encourages individual growth. The language arts program employs a wide range of strategies where students learn to write using various writing process elements to communicate appropriately.

The Second Step, drug prevention and conflict resolution program, provides students the opportunity to develop communication skills necessary to solve daily problems that are age appropriate so as to influence the choice students make.

In keeping with its value-centered Catholic program, religion is a natural part of our curriculum. Students participate in Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Celebration of the Eucharist throughout the school year. Seventh and Eighth grade students also receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
